Quezon City is one of the metro’s biggest cities and one of its largest economies. In recent years, many businesses process outsourcing (BPO) and call center companies, IT parks and buildings have set up their headquarters in the different business districts in the city. In turn, many properties are being developed, specifically to cater to the employees of these multinational companies.

On Sept. 7, Taft Properties topped off their first vertical residential project in Metro Manila, Symfoni Kamias. The 19-story property is located along KJ Street right off Kamias Road in Quezon City. “Within this area, you will notice that we are the only high-rise building, unlike in Araneta Center, where all the high-rise buildings are, but those properties target a different market”. Says Ramlo Torres, Business Development Head for Luzon of Taft Property.

“We offer a more affordable option. We started selling at P75,000 per sqm. But now since we topped-off, we are now at 106,000 per sqm to the delight of our investors who expect appreciation on their investment,” he adds.

For Symfoni Kamias, a total of 400 studio units were made available, with only 27 units per floor.

Unlike other high-rise properties, Symfoni Kamias simplified itself when it came to the residential buildings’ features and amenities.

“We call then functional amenities. Other developments have everything but these are not always used, so we limited it to amenities that would really be used by our tenants,” explains Torres. “For example, we have a swimming pool, a conference room that doubles into a small events place, a Sky Garden that doubles as a hangout place and a cross ventilation. In addition, the whole ground floor of the building is reserved for commercial spaces like laundry, water stations, and convenience stores”.

Aside from these, the features of the residential building include back-up power, 24-hour security including key card access system for the elevator and doors, motion-activated lights, fire protection, and wifi at the lobby.

“The concept behind our project is easy living. We want to limit it to just the essentials,” he added.

Symfoni Kamias is one of the properties from the Symfoni line. Symfoni is the affordable segment of taft Properties. The first product from the line, Symfoni Nichols Alto, is located in Cebu, and sold out in three months.

“After the success of Symfoni Nichols Alto, we replicated that model here in Manila, thus Symfoni Kamias. It is a product of our success story,” says Torres.

Taft Properties – or Taft Property venture Development Corporation – is steadily rising to become one of the leading real estate developers in the country. Backed by VICSAL Development Corporation, the company behind the Metro Gaisano store chains, Taft Properties is proving to be a solid and dynamic developer in Metro Cebu, developing quality and affordable housing in the city, and now in Metro Manila.

“We are very happy. This is a milestone event, not just for the Symfoni Kamias, but for the company. This is our first building in Metro Manila and we are showing the real estate industry and the people that we are dependable and that we are a reputable developer,” ends Torres.
